The gym I’m a member of is the best one in my city. It has everything you could possibly need and more! Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, group classes, a state of the art gym, steam rooms and saunas…luxurious is an understatement.
There’s one major problem with my gym….I’ve stopped going! So why have I stopped going? I’d say although it’s the most amazing gym ever, it doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle. I don’t have a car at the moment meaning just getting there is a challenge. Going before work isn’t an option and to go after work I have to allow at least two hours which just doesn’t happen. The weekends were the best bet for me to go but even then the classes weren’t at the ideal time for me – 9am on a Sunday will never happen for me consistently. So for these reasons I’ve cancelled…
I still recognise the many benefits there are of going to the gym. It’s so good for your health, both mentally and physically and it dramatically improves my confidence when I’m working out regularly. I love how I feel after a good workout so although I’m cancelling I am joining a new gym instead!
The new one is a quarter of the size of the old one (but also a quarter of the price!) It doesn’t have as much fancy equipment but it does have everything I need. The best thing is it’s a gym I walk past every day on the way home from work! How easy will it be for me to go! I’ve definitely recognised that location is key for me going regularly and going regularly will give me more results then any fancy equipment can!
It feels like such a positive change for my mind, body and bank balance!
