Ways to Feel Confident on a First Date

A first date is a nerve-wracking experience for the majority of people if not everyone! I guess it’s because you don’t know how it’s going to go, you can have an idea but won’t know for sure until you’re on the actual date.

For me, the main nerves come before the date and for the first ten minutes then I breathe a sigh of relief, relax and wonder why I was ever so nervous!

The key to feeling confident on a date comes from feeling good about yourself and keeping calm so that your true personality can shine!

Here’s how I make sure I feel extra confident on a very first date:

I want to look like my best self when meeting a potential romantic interest, not just to make a good impression (although that’s a big part of it!) but to feel good about myself and get that extra spike of confidence. I would usually get my haircut and make sure it’s shiny and sleek! I’d also put on a luxurious face mask and get my eyebrows threading followed by an indulgent manicure.

I’m a high street girl and when it comes to shopping for a date outfit I’m still high street but I tend to buy it from a slightly more expensive shop. I get most of my day to day clothes from H+M but for a date I’d purchase the perfect outfit from Topshop, Oasis or Warehouse – not too expensive but a little more than I’d usually spend.

It’s the day of the date and you don’t know what you’re wearing or the directions to where you’re going…panic, panic, panic! Get everything ready the night before so you can calmly get ready on the day without getting stressed.

One major worry about a first date is what if there are awkward silences and you’re just sat gazing at each other not having a clue what to say. Think beforehand of some questions you can ask if the conversation goes a little quiet. Knowing you will know what to do in this situation will help with your confidence!

At the end of the day if it doesn’t go well there are plenty of men out there and you know what there is someone perfect just waiting to meet you. One way you can find them is through joining a local dating site such as a  Manchester dating site , or if you want to check out the Plymouth dating scene or even the County Fermanagh dating or Leicestershire dating scene get joining a dating site!

How do you get confident for a date? I’d love to hear in the comments!

Great post! Planning in advance is such a good… plan! I find, even not on dates, that my mind goes blank with things to say, and it’s always good to run through some topics of conversation beforehand.
