Living in Cambridge there are thousands of people local to me on dating websites so in order to meet some amazing online dates, my dating profile is really important to stand out from the crowd!
Here are my top tips for how to make a great online profile:
*Include a headshot and also a full-length photo to give the person viewing your profile an accurate account of what you look like.
*Make sure you’re smiling in your photos and having fun! This will instantly make you ten times more attractive!
*Don’t include photos of you wearing sunglasses. The eyes are a major way people connect, make sure yours can be seen!
*Don’t include photos with multiple people in it – the viewer will wonder which one you are!
*Include photos of yourself doing your favourite hobbies. This will let the person viewing your profile see what an interesting and fun person you are!
*Keep it positive – don’t talk about what you’re not looking for or what a loser your ex is.
*Write about what you like to do in your spare time – give the reader something they can ask you more about when they message you.
*Keep it catchy and concise to improve the odds of the reader making it to the end.
*Check your spelling – errors will make it appear that you haven’t made an effort.
*Write about the type of person you are looking for. You’re more likely to hear from them if you do!
Once you’ve written the perfect profile and have picked out the best photos you have it’s time to start browsing and message those that you are interested in. The first message you send is so important because if they aren’t feeling your message they are unlikely to click on your profile and see the amazing person that you are!
I personally think the best messages you can receive are the ones that are tailored to you, the ones that show they have read your profile and it’s clear it’s not the same message they have copied and pasted to fifty others before you!
Once you’ve messaged for a while the next step is usually to chat on the phone and then the all important meet!
What do you think makes a great dating profile? I’d love to know in the comments!
