Clinique 3-Step Skin Care Review

I couldn’t wait to try out  Clinique’s 3-step skin care products because I’ve heard such great things about them!

For the 3-step skin system, you use a  Clinique facial soap, a clarifying lotion and a moisturiser twice a day. The three products combined will set you back around £50! For me, this is a lot of money to spend on skincare so I was really pleased to discover that you can buy an intro kit containing a small bottle of each product.

The kit costs £20 and is a great way to test out the products before you spend so much money on the full-size items. I also thought it would be a way to see if I would consistently use Clinique twice a day because sometimes I can get a little lazy with my skincare. I start off using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser before convenience wins and I reach for the quick and easy makeup remover wipes instead.

Clinique’s 3 Step Intro Kits kits come in a variety of options to suit your skin type. I went for the kit that is suitable for dry combination skin.

Here’s what you get in the kit and what I thought of each item:

STEP ONE: 50ml Liquid Facial Soap – Mild

If someone took the label off this liquid facial soap and asked me if it was a budget or premium product I would instantly know it was a premium product. Once applied with a splash of water it creates a light foam and when washed off it left my skin feeling super clean and soft.

STEP TWO: 100ml  Clarifying Lotion 2

This clarifying lotion gently exfoliated my skin leaving it looking a lot clearer. I used a cotton ball to sweep the lotion across my skin and I could feel it instantly working. The Clarifying lotion 2 is for my skin type which is dry combination skin.

STEP THREE: 30ml Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion

The last step is to apply the moisturising lotion. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the size of the bottle because it looked tiny compared to the soap and clarifying lotion but a little really does go a long way. It absorbed into my skin really well and instantly made it feel softer.

On the back of the kit is says that after ten days your skin should begin to glow, feel smoother and that it will also make your makeup look better! Having used it for ten days I completely agree with that. I was surprised how much better my makeup looked and the skincare regime really made my makeup absorb better and it allowed me to use less product.

Time to get saving for the full-size versions!

What’s your skincare routine? I’d love to know in the comments!

My skincare routine is quite simple. I usually wash, tone and moisturise. I also do weakly mask or exfoliation, the products i use change a lot but at the moment i’m trying to stick to one line. I’ve never tried the Clinique skincare line, even though i have used other things from them. Great post, thanks for sharing xo

I’d like to try out their 3-step skincare but I’m still using up my current products – I’d hate to waste them. 🙂
