Over the last year I’ve really got into contouring, it still amazes me what a difference it can make to my overall makeup look. Contouring is a trend that took me a while to try through fear of walking around with the dreaded stripey face look! Luckily that hasn’t happened thanks to super blendable products like the Chisel and Cheeks Contour Creams by Barry M.
I was so excited to try this out, I’ve previously only used powders to contour with so I couldn’t wait to see how I’d fair with contour creams.
This beautiful set comes with a contour shade and a highlighter shade. The contour shade sculpts the cheeks, hairline and nose and the highlighter is applied to your cheekbones, the length of your nose and the centre of the forehead. What’s great about this set is that there’s a diagram on the back of the box so you can’t go wrong!
They also have a video tutorial here that I watched before I applied the creams to learn some extra tips and tricks.
So what did I think of it? My first impressions when I saw the kit was that the dark brown contour shade would be too dark for my pale skin but this really wasn’t the case. It’s suitable for all skin shades and you’re in control of how much you use. The video has a great tip of applying the product to the brush first for a more subtle look.
Both the highlighter and contour are really easy to apply – they are like giant crayons, it just glides on and because of it’s creamy texture it’s a dream to blend. I love how the products create shadow on my face which made my face look better structured and left me feeling confident and happy with my finished look.
Do you contour? I’d love to know in the comments!
