Glossybox Review

I’ve only just discovered Glossybox (I know where I have been!) which is the UK’s number one beauty subscription service. You get sent five mystery beauty products each month and I just love the surprise element of it! Once you sign up you can choose your beauty preferences such as what your skin tone is to make sure the products you are sent are suited to you…perfect!

I’ve been meaning to sign up for a while and when I heard you could get the June Glossybox for  40% off I signed up in record speed! A rolling subscription costs £10 per month plus £4 delivery but with the 40% off I got the box for  £9.25 including delivery! They do have other subscription options which work out cheaper but I wanted to try it out first to see if it was me.

The five products are beautifully presented in a luxury pink box that just oozes quality and inside were products I’d never tried before plus a very familiar bonus product. Here’s the products I got:

I love two in one products. Anything that can save some room in my bursting at the seams makeup bag is a definite plus. The Emite Make Up Lip and Cheek Tint came in a berry tone that you can easily blend with your fingertips on your lips and cheeks to create a more natural look. When I ordered the GlossyBox I was expecting all five products to be sample sizes but this along with the four other items were all full-sized. I was already impressed!

I’ve never tried an eye mask  before but when I heard this Starskin smoothing eye mask reduces both puffiness and dark circles I was keen to try it out. All you do is place it under the eyes, leave for 15 minutes and massage until all the serum has absorbed…simple. I’m someone who does have dark circles so I was amazed at how wide awake it left my eyes.

Sun protection spray is always something you need so it was a pleasant surprise to see this included. I love that it’s a spray as it’s less of a mess and it’s also a non-greasy formula which ticks all the boxes. Having sensitive skin it was great to discover that it’s free from perfume.

In a nutshell this is a sponge that will buff your skin. All you do is soak it in warm water, squeeze out the excess and massage using circular motions. The results will leave your skin soft and glowing.

As soon as I opened my Glossybox I was hit with the smell of this product which has an addictive sweet coconut scent. It hydrates, nourishes and calms your skin along with prolonging your tan…bonus!

This was a bonus product so it was a sample size. It’s the only brand in the box that I’d heard of and the only product I’d already tried before. As soon as you rinse the conditioner off you can instantly feel the difference in the softness of your hair. It’s such a great pick me up for when your hair is looking tired and frazzled.

I was so impressed with Glossybox. The size and variety of products I recieved exceeded my expectations. It’s also great to be introduced to new products and brands that I haven’t tried before. A MAJOR plus is its value for money. In the box it lets you know what the recommended retail price for each item is and if you add them all up the total of the box is £58.55! You would however be able to find the items cheaper than the RRP if you hunt around. For the Ladival Sun Protection Spray SPF 15 the recommended retail price is £19.99 but in Boots it’s £13.50. However this product alone is still more expensive than what I paid for the entire box! You really can’t argue with the amazing value Glossybox offers and I’m so excited to receive the next box!

It’s so good! The best thing to do is to sign up to their newsletter. They send you offers to encourage you to sign up. I got the 40% one emailed to me. You can sign up to the newsletter on their website.

I’m not in the UK, so I don’t think that one would be available to me, but do you think subscription boxes like these do a good job of catering to different skin tones and types? Just curious, I’ve always been a little leery of signing up for things like these!

When I first signed up they asked me questions about me to ensure the products they sent will match. They also sent me an email to let me know that next month there will be an eyeshadow palette. They let me choose which one I wanted in the box because they come in all different shades. I thought that was really good!
