My June Makeup Buys

June saw me add some brand new makeup items to my evergrowing collection. Here’s what I purchased:

SLEEK MAKEUP MATTE ME ULTRA SMOOTH LIP CREAM

Matte lip glosses have recently soared in popularity. I first discovered them when Kylie Jenner announced her lip product range which always sells out within minutes of  stock being available! I wanted to purchase a budget alternative so I went for the Matte Me by Sleek Makeup. Once applied to my lips they felt intensely moiturised…seriously soft! I was so impressed with the finished result, it made my lips look sophisticated and fuller. The above shade I opted for was Birthday Suit which is the perfect name as it’s a nude tone that’s very similar to my natural lip colour. It’s long lasting and made my lips appear flawless.

MODEL CO ILLUSION LIP LINER LIP ENHANCER

Next up is this lip enhancer lip pencil which I got free with Glamour magazine. Don’t you just love a magazine freebie! It’s a nude shade which allows you to define the shape of your lips creating a fuller appearance. It looks so natural which is what I love the most about it. It can also be used all over your lips as a base for your lipstick.

TANYA BURR INDIVIDUAL LASHES

I’ve experimented with a variety of false eyelashes in different shapes and sizes.Strip eyelashes refuse to suit me no matter how much I’d like them to. They always make my eyes look heavy  which results in a  I haven’t slept in a week appearance – not the look I’m going for! This is why I decided to get some individual eyelashes to achieve a more tailored look to suit my almond shaped eyes. When it came to which brand to choose I instantly thought of the range by Tanya Burr. I’ve watched YouTube videos of her demonstrated how to apply them so these ones naturally sprung to mind. I was also attracted by the beautiful gold packaging! The pack includes short, medium and long false lashes. The long ones are too big for me but I will definitely use the medium and short ones. It also comes with the all important lash glue. These lashes are perfect for adding natural length and volume which is exactly what I was hoping for!

MAKE UP REVOLUTION HIGHLIGHTER – GOLDEN LIGHTS

I’ve read amazing reviews about this highlighter and with it only costing £3 I thought it was definitely worth trying out. It’s a powder  with a golden tone and leaves your skin feeling silky soft. I applied it to my cheeks but couldn’t see a difference which could be because I bought the wrong shade. I have very pale skin which it disappeared into. The hunt for the perfect highlighter continues!

Thanks for the comment Kim. The lip pencil works perfectly with the lip cream! The lip cream is also not very expensive which is always good! 🙂

Try the Peach Lights highlighter from Revolution! I have really pale skin and it gives a really nice pink glittery glow to the high points of the cheeks. Or you can try their contour pallette that has several colours in it, it’s only £8. There’s also the new Rimmel Kate Moss cheeks set that has a really nice golden highlighter in with a blush and a bronzer! Hope this helps x
