What I Got My Niece For Her First Birthday

My niece turns one next week. I can’t believe it! It’s been the quickest year ever. It feels like only yesterday I was visiting her in hospital just hours after she’d been born. She was so tiny and I was so nervous to hold her for the first time. She’s now becoming a toddler and is such a active, happy and smiley baby.

I’ve been trying to figure out for a while what to get her for her first birthday present. It’s been a challenge to find something for her because so many toys are for aged 3 years and over. I can’t wait until shes three because the list of possibilities will be endless!

When searching for the perfect gift I knew I wanted to get her a fun toy that’s different to any of the toys she already has. After much deliberation I decided to get her the  Fisher Price Bright Beats Dance and Move Beat Bo. It’s suitable for children aged aged 9-36 months.

I like to get toys that have learning goals so I was really pleased to see that this toy helps with:

  • Gross Motor Skills Development
  • Sensory Development
  • Curiosity and Discovery

I also chose it because it is bright and colourful and I love how it lights up. There are also three ways you can use it which will hopefully mean my niece doesn’t have the chance to get bored!

Here’s what it does:

Dance and Move

The toy plays music and moves. I know my niece will love this feature because she’s always bopping away whenever she hears music. I’m sure this will have her smiling and dancing away.

Learning and Games

There are loads of games to help with her development where she can learn things like colours and her ABC’s.

Record and Remix

You can record yourself saying something, it speaks it back to you and remixes it into a song. I think this feature will really make my niece laugh and I’m looking forward to seeing that.

I’m going to do a blog post about her first birthday party where I will write her reaction to her gift so look out for that!.
