Living in Cambridge I get the opportunity to take lots of photos of this beautiful city. Whilst looking through them I realised many of them sum up what I love about Cambridge.
So here’s what I love!
Cambridge University is made up of 31 colleges each with their own purpose and history. I love the fact that Trinity College has the original manuscript of Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne! Another interesting fact is that King’s College has a world famous chapel and choir. Its Christmas Eve service is televised to millions around the world!
The Grand Arcade
The Grande Arcade is an award winning shopping centre in Cambridge. Across three floors it has plenty of shops such as Topshop, Apple, All Saints, John Lewis, Coast and Kurt Geiger. I can often be found here on a Saturday!
Cambridge is known as a cycling city which is no surprise because it’s the city in the UK with the most people cycling! Like most people here I love to explore the city on my bike. Did you know it was reported that half of residents here use their bike at least once a week!
Cambridge’s open air market takes prime location in Cambride City Centre. It’s open everyday from 10am till 4pm. It sells a variety of items such as food, flowers and clothes. On Sunday the market because an arts and crafts and local produce market with local farmers selling their produce and you can also discover some unique finds in the form of pottery, paintings and sculptures.
The River Camb is the main river in Cambridge and always looks beautiful. It’s lined with bars and restaurants and some of our famous colleges! The River Camb is also popular for punting. Check out my previous blog post about Punting in Cambridge.
