I love to transform my look which is easily done by choosing the right lip colour. A nude lip colour is the perfect choice when I want my eyes to pop and be my stand out feature where as a bold colour can switch the attention to ensure my lips are centre stage.
This review features three lip colours that I frequently wear. I’ve marked them out of 5 for quality, application, appearance and value.
Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm – no.135 Provocateur Femme Fatale
First up is the Colourburst Lacque Balm by Revlon. It’s a retractable chubby crayon that you will never need to sharpen. You just twist it when it starts to run low – perfect! Being a balm it offers lots of moisture and it’s no surprise when you learn it’s made with shea, mango and coconut butter. it gives a shiny look and the colour in the Provocateur Femme Fatale shade makes your lips really stand out and become a key feature.
QUALITY – This is a high quality product from the packaging that looks striking and expensive to the moisturising qualities the product possesses. The colour looks rich and luxurious and the crayon being retractable adds to it’s value. – 5/5
APPLICATION – It glides on easily and takes seconds to apply. The downside is that when applied your lips get a tingly sensation and it tastes of mint. – 3/5
APPEARANCE – I love this shade and the instant impact it gives my lips. It doesn’t bleed like most red lipsticks do and I also think the packaging makes it look more expensive than it actually is – 4/5
VALUE – At £8.99 it is good value for money especially as you do not need to apply much for each application – 5/5

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick – No.700 – Nude Delight
This is a pretty nude peachy colour that I found through a Youtube tutorial: Victoria Beckham Makeup Tutorial by Rimmel. It’s called Nude Delight and it’s my go to lipstick as I love how it works with my hair and pale complexion. It’s such a light shade that it tones down my lips and makes my eyes stand out.
QUALITY -The packaging is attractive with a high shine purple finish however the lipstick does not have good staying power and I need to frequently reapply it throughout the day. – 3/5
APPLICATION – It’s quite patchy when applied which means I need to apply multiple layers to achieve a flawless look – 2/5
APPEARANCE – I love the paleness of the nude Delight shade and I feel my confidence increasing whenever I wear this – 5/5
VALUE – At £6.49 it’s a steal but as mentioned earlier it frequently needs to be reapplied – 4/5
TOTAL – 14/20
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss – No.03
Kate Moss is such an icon so of course I wanted her lipstick brand in my collection. This lipstick claims to offer high intensity colour for up to 8 hours. I got it in the no.3 which is a pinky nude tone.
QUALITY -The packaging is of a low quality and has a plain and cheap appearance. The lipstick only stayed put for a few hours, much less than the number expected. – 2/5
APPLICATION – It’s a thick consistency and glided on nicely. I find it works best when you apply one layer, blot and then apply an additional layer – 4/5
APPEARANCE – I love the the attractive nude shade of this lipstick. The only negative is the appearance of the packaging as it doesn’t match the quality of the product. – 3/5
VALUE – At £5.49 it’s the cheapest lipstick I’ve reviewed. The packaging isn’t great but for me the price more than makes up for that. – 4/5
